iMiTRACE Cyclotron

12 MeV Cyclotron for Onsite Radioisotope Production

Due to its unique architecture, iMiTRACE cyclotron offers several specific characteristics as well as high performance, with a high level of reliability. It is designed for the production of radioisotopes used in PET imaging.

Specifically designed for medical and imaging centers, the cyclotron iMiTRACE grants them access to an on-site radiopharmaceutical production system. Reliable, stable and compact, iMiTRACE is entirely designed and manufactured at PMB. With a self-shielded, 4-port targetry and equipped with a helium-free superconducting magnet, iMiTRACE is the result of many technological improvements made on cyclotron OSCAR (Oxford Instruments). 

 

Versatility & Ease-of-Use

iMiTRACE is designed for fully automated operation from an external control room, from target selection and filling, to delivery to the radiochemistry.

iMiTRACE accelerates particles to 12 MeV, the ideal energy for the on-site production of single-dose 11C, 18F, 68Ga, and more. The cyclotron is also able to produce batches of radioisotopes: over 100 GBq of 18F per run. With its patented self-shielded external targetry, iMiTRACE is a lightweight cyclotron (< 20T). It is also the first cyclotron to use a helium-free, superconducting and persistent magnet. As a result, iMiTRACE is compact and very stable in operation. The targets do not require helium cooling and provide high production yields.
